Hack the Summit!
July 16 - 18, 2026
Hamburg, Germany
In advance of the km-scale Summit 2026, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and WarmWorld will host a small hackathon.
The goals of this hackathon are:
- to propose, develop and test data standards for km-scale models
- to create km-ready analysis tools, e.g., trackers
- to outline opportunities for agent based analysis and coding for km-scale modelling (AI)
- to develop a strategy for coordinated simulations and output data provision
- to begin planning for the 2027 Global Hackathon
- to finish scientific projects from the WCRP Global Hackathon 2025
- to develop position papers for the km-Scale Global Modelling Summit 2026
Program milestones
The program will be co-created and kept rather flexible.
